Hello! We are FC Nono, a social football team in Bihar, India, dedicated to empowering underprivileged children through football activities.
In June 2024, two boys participated in a leadership coaching session with an NGO “TeamUp For Transformation” and “Pro Soccer Academy” in Delhi, as the first FC Nono boys' out-of-state trip!
Today we will report on the purpose of this trip, the activities they experienced, what they learned, and how the trip changed them!
Two FC Nono boys made their first out-of-state trip to “TeamUp For Transformation” and “Pro Soccer Academy” in Delhi in June 2024.

Objectives of the Trip
The purpose of this trip was focusing on enhancement of individual leadership, coaching skills, and personal growth, rather than improvement of the organizational skills and level of the soccer team.
Participants from FC Nono
Two boys were selected for the trip for their continuous participation in FC Nono's activities since the first day of its establishment in June 2021 and their great contribution to the team's growth since then.
The two boys contribute to the team not only in the play but as kids' coaches who teach football to younger children in the surrounding community. They both also have younger sisters and do their best to educate them and help their mothers in daily lives. Since FC Nono is also promoting girls' rights, the existence of boys like these two, who understand and can actually take action, is very important.

Destination of This Trip: “TeamUp For Transformation” and “Pro Soccer Academy”
Two organizations hosted them on this trip.
One is “Pro Soccer Academy,” a specialized academy for improving soccer skills, and the other is “TeamUp For Transformation,” a local NGO based in the capital city of New Delhi. The main theme of TeamUp For Transformation’s activities is the advancement of women in society, and like FCNono, it supports it through football.
Both teams have dispatched coaches to FC Nono in the past, and have a good understanding of FC Nono's children while the children also understand the people involved in the teams. This is why they kindly offered to organize the leadership and coaching session this time.
Activities during the Trip
We went to New Delhi by plane, since the activity site for FC Nono (Bihar) is in a different state. It was the first experience for both boys to go to New Delhi or even to board an airplane! It was very exciting for them to see the big fuselage, how it leaves the ground in a flash, and how people and things become as small as peas!
At TeamUp For Transformation, not only we learned from them, but we also practiced the coaching that we usually do in Bihar to the children in New Delhi.
In addition to football, the boys also conducted hygiene awareness education in their life skill sessions at TeamUp For Transformation, including what they learned in the“Achhi Aadat (Good Habits) Campaign” in collaboration with FC Nono and JICA India. The JICA India office staff also observed our activities at TeamUp For Transformation!
At Pro Soccer Academy, we focused more on coaching football.
Many children, whose parents are expats of Japanese companies and staff of the Embassy of Japan in India, play football here. Practicing with Japanese children also gave them an opportunity to experience international exchange.
The two boys were excited to play on artificial turf for the first time in their lives! One of the participating children commented, “Playing football on artificial turf was my most memorable experience in New Delhi.”
Besides football, we also conducted social and study tours, visiting World Heritage Sites, India Gate, and markets in Old Delhi!
Reliable on the soccer field, but innocent boys outside the field!
During the trip to New Delhi, we held a meeting at the Embassy of Japan in India for diplomats to report on our activities and exchange opinions!

We are truly delighted to see that the two boys, who were playing around on the street when they first joined the FC Nono activity in June 2021, have grown strong over the past three years, and have grown even bigger again on this trip.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone involved in this trip!
We are posting our activities on social media in real time as much as possible.
