Hello! We are FC Nono, a soccer team dedicated to supporting underprivileged children in Bihar, India, by addressing poverty and challenging circumstances through the power of soccer.
On January 8, 2025, we had the honor of being invited to the Embassy of India in Japan. Our team representative, Nono, along with Abhilasha Devaraj, FC Nono’s Board Member, and Mayo ji, FC Nono’s Official Ambassador, presented our activity report and engaged in a fruitful exchange of ideas.
During our visit, we were warmly welcomed by H.E. Mr. Sibi George, Ambassador-designate of India to Japan. We had the opportunity to share the details of FC Nono’s activities in Bihar, our envisioned social impact, and our future plans. Initially scheduled as a 30-minute meeting, the session was extended to an hour thanks to the Ambassador’s generosity. During this time, we received invaluable advice and words of strong encouragement. The Ambassador highlighted FC Nono’s potential to strengthen ties between India and Japan, as well as our role in promoting education and gender equality through soccer in local communities.

Moreover, the Ambassador delivered a special presentation on the vital role that India-Japan relations play amidst the dynamically changing global landscape. He emphasized how FC Nono’s activities transcend sports, serving as a significant cultural bridge between India and Japan.
We also discussed our upcoming 2025 project, which involves inviting children from India to Japan for a tour. This conversation included consultations about the issuance of passports for children from Bihar, who view international travel as a once-in-a-lifetime dream. The Ambassador suggested a collaboration with the Indian central government to make this vision a reality. The Ambassador kindly offered advice on how to better promote our initiatives and foster stronger connections with the Indian government.
This meeting was an incredibly meaningful experience for us and has greatly motivated us to continue striving to bring hope and opportunities to more children. Inspired by the Ambassador’s words, we will persist in our efforts to make a positive difference.
Last year, we had the honor of meeting with H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki, then Ambassador of Japan to India (currently serving as Ambassador to the United Kingdom). During our meeting, we introduced our activities, and Ambassador Suzuki graciously visited Bihar, the region where FC Nono operates. His visit to the field and firsthand observation of our initiatives were an incredible source of encouragement for us.

In addition, two child leaders from FC Nono were invited to the Embassy of Japan in New Delhi, where they had the valuable opportunity to engage in discussions with the embassy’s Counselor and Secretaries.

Finally, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this visit possible, including the staff of the Embassy of India in Japan and Counselor Mr. Orita san from the Embassy of Japan in the United States. Moving forward, we remain committed to serving as a bridge between India, Japan, and the world. We sincerely appreciate your continued support of FC Nono!
